  • Tinycards is a powerful, but fun, flash card tutor (review)

Flash cards don't have the most "fun" reputation, am I right? The utterance of the term brings about the specter of a coming test; of hours or repetition in your bedroom....memorizing, guessing, and re-guessing until either you have the facts implanted in your brain, or you fall asleep on your bed.

It is very cumbersome that after completing a deck cannot go back by using the BACK button because that brings back to a previous word. Rather we need to click on home button which brings back to the beginning and then have to select the course again and the deck only after. Pls make it more convenient. Thx.

So far the best app I have found to help learn a language, it gives you pictures sounds and makes you spell them.

Inferior to the iOS version: can't turn off keyboard input like I could on that. I can't type kanji.

So many things wrong, hopefully I have enough characters, after hours of working it deleted most of my progress three times(after the third time, I just delted the app), it has ~10 second typing lag(only app that does that, not my phone), only lets you publish if you have "every fact completed" yet when it isn't completed there is a 50/50 chance it will delete most of the progress, and probably more things that I am missing, which is kind of funny, how they are the best at language learning apps, but apparently the worst out of flash card apps

I can't type Japanese characters on my device. Why can't I find any cards that aren't assuming I can do this?

Excellent learning app! It goes well alongside Duolingo!

This app complements my Norwegian DuoLingo excercises perfectly. There isn't an offical card set for Norwegian yet, but Leigh Forbes has created a bunch of decks that go along with the course! Hooray for the community 😁 My suggestions for improvements: add features to allow you to sort/organise cards in your favourites, add landscape support/functionality, add link with DuoLingo that lets you earn XP for completing lessons in TinyCards, add ability to have cards accept multiple "correct" answers

Great that it's finally on Android. I really like the fact that it complements duolingo. They finally fixed most of the navigation issues. The app could still use some navigation improvements. For example, after finishing a lesson if you hit the back button, it takes you to the first lesson. Then you have to scroll all the way down to start working on the next lesson. For a language course with over 40 lessons, this gets old pretty quickly. Secondly, I wish there was a way to practice across multiple lessons or at least start a random deck for review.

Couldn't figure it out so uninstalled. I've been waiting for the ability to pick ("favorite") individual Duolingo questions to put them in one (or more) flashcard deck so I could repeat the few parts in a lesson I REALLY want to repeat without going through the entire lesson over and over again. Even if I had figured this app out, doesn't seem like what I've been waiting so long for. :( Sad.

This is a really nice app, clean and helpful, however after pain stalkingly creating my cards for study. (Pharmacology) I can't publish it because some of my answers were more than 150 characters. Which they are going to be. For this to be excellent it has to be versatile and not limiting. Wasted my study time. Please address your 150 limited characters. Answers for some topics is not just yes and no.

I tried this app for 5 minutes and it is very obvious that it is not ready. The idea of the app is great, but when you are doing flash cards, all synonyms should be correct for each word, like in Duolingo. What made Duolingo great was how it accepts so many answers, not just one, worded in an exact way. I was getting words "wrong" that are correct in Duolingo because they accept many synonyms for words in Duolingo. So I use tiny cards, and find that words that are correct in Duolingo are not accepted in Tiny cards. I hope I can come back to this app one day and find that this has been fixed because I like the idea, just match it to accept the same answers as in Duolingo. A fun idea might be to make it so that whether you are using Duolingo or Tiny Cards, your account gets points added. Maybe this is already the case. I didn't use it long enough to know. I just used it long enough to see that it would screw me up to continue using it if it is only going to accept one correct answer, when nouns have multiple.
