Today, Nest will push a new app update to Android and iOS that should improve the notification experience from your cameras. App kicks ass! Nest cam 📹is great. Really like the notifications with a short clip of the motion activity. On my Android Wear just wish there was a way to view the still picture without the notification text blocking 75% of the pic...it's pretty much only good for telling me I need to look at my phone to see the activity.

The fan recirculating option could be better programmed. When you set the fan to be on 15 minutes each hour it turns on for the 15 minutes each hour then the air is stagnant for the next 45 minutes. A more efficient and effective method would having the ability to had the fan on for 5 minutes every 15 minutes. This would be a more evenly of recirculating the air. I know I can set to be after 30 or 45 minutes an hour but that's a waste electricity and the nest supposed to conserve energy

This app works half the time, if you are lucky. It's basically a useless headache and therefore renders the cameras useless since this is the only way to control them. This needs to be fixed or I am returning all of my cameras.

Horrible support. They take a long time, leave you with critical gaps in functionality for weeks, refuse to expedite, and refuse to acknowledge or resolve defects. Edit: For lack of a reply feature, thanks for the reply, Nest. Support has actually refused to provide me a mechanism for further feedback or escalation or sending on defect reports, so I'm not really sure how I could give you that feedback at this point...

Buggy to the point of being frustrating. Changing orientation can cause large time jumps. Pressing the 15 second skip button can cause huge time jumps. Pretty much unusable unless you're extremely patient and persistent.

Works ok for my Nest Thermostat, but could do with more features. Android Wear app needs to show actual temperature in the same way the phone app does. Also should feature more data output when connected via Opentherm, just showing On/Off in history is meaningless as the demand may only be 20%.

The latest update broke my activity zone notifications. I tried removing and reinstalling all my cameras and it's still messed up. Customer service was no help resolving the issue. I hope a future update fixes it. Edit #1: I finally discovered (on my own) what the issue is. Unless you have "person seen" activated, you will not get notifications in an activity zone when someone walks by. With this option turned off, you will only get notifications for motion. For example: a bird flying by or waving your hand directly in front of the camera. This is extremely unfortunate for people who only want person seen notifications in specific activity zone instead of in the entire camera's field of vision. For example: a camera pointing outside where people regularly walk by, but you are only interested in notifications in a specific zone. The only other option is to turn on "person seen" and get a million notifications throughout the day and hope that one of them is within the activity zone you actually care about. I really hope they fix this so "person seen" is a unique option for each activity zone instead of the camera overall. Currently, it's a broken feature. Edit #2: still no good feedback from Nest on how to solve the notification issues. I've had to "hack" my cameras by smudging/dirtying the lens making the video quality blurry. This tricks the camera into not recognizing if a person walks in an activity zone. Instead, it only sees it as motion which results in the notifications I want. Pretty sad that I have to do this in order to get a simple feature to work.

It seems as if the location issues with Home-Away assist have been drastically improved since I last tried the feature on my Nexus 5X. So thank you! However, I'm still having issues with the Android Wear app responding at all (LG G Watch R). The majority of the time, it says it can't connect to Nest. This makes the Android Wear app essentially useless. This happens even if battery optimization is disabled for the Nest app on the phone. One suggestion for the Android Wear app regarding NestCam/DropCam: I only own a camera, and all I can do with the AW app is set Home or Away. I know it's probably unrealistic to get a live video stream from the camera on the watch. But maybe it could pull an on-demand screenshot?

It's useless for a monitor camera, the app basically continually crashes with a blue circle trying to reconnect but it never does. You then have to kill the app and restart not exactly useful if using as a baby monitor over night. This can happen again only seconds or minutes after restarting the app. Support are useless they take forever to reply and then just ask you to uninstall reinstall total BS. Then they never come back when you say that doesn't work. Clueless and useless. DO NOT BUY ONE....

Should provide widgets or at least shortcuts for devices so they can be easily toggled (ie: nestcam) This would be way faster than opening the app to toggle a camera

Keeps saying offline when I know for a fact it isn't. Now doesn't control the nest.
