Except for the 3 times it froze on me while trying to save it... I loved it. Love playing these old games on my phone. It also kept erasing my in game saves... Started using it after losing at least 6hrs total gameplay.

Still can't use my beboncool Bluetooth controller with this or any of the other new sega games apart from the sonic game that works perfectly with the controller. These games and the sonic game are made by sega. Why can't you just use the controller implementation from the sonic game on all of the other games. Have tried playing this and the other games with the on screen controls and they are rubbish, as I find all on screen controls are. As such this and all the other new sega games are unplayable ( apart from sonic ). Until controller support is sorted. This is really a shame as I have fond memories of playing these games as a kid and if controller support was sorted I would be paying for the removal of the adverts. Have completely given up on sega actually fixing the controller support as some of the games have been out for a while now and nothing has been said about controller support even being looked at.

A great nostalgic trip through old school JRPGs. Tough but rewarding Update: After the last update all of my progress was lost and/or erased. Until this critical feature is fixed I will not play or spend $1 on the Ad free version. If this is not resolved by the end of this year(2017) I will delete this game

Great emulation, but every time I hit the home button, the app restarts and loses my progress. Not really playable if I can't multitask.

Can't save game, and is essentially unplayable because of that. Try signing into Google Play Games, which is needed to save games for whatever reason, and it fails every time. Uninstalling.

Grindy retro goodness. Don't listen to those griping about the onscreen controls they are perfectly fine. Sound and graphics are just what you remember and the "smooth" option under settings cleans up those sprites nicely. SEGA PLEASE PORT THE REST OF THE PHANTASY STAR SERIES SOON. MUCH LOVE 4 YA.

Second time downloading this hoping they would've fixed the sound issue. They obviously didn't. Come on SEGA get your act together.

Update: After working with customer support, and the developers, I can now say the game works flawlessly! Perfection! No more stuttering whatsoever! I am on Nexus 6p with Oreo 8.0.0 Sept 5 security update. Thank you!!!

Bought the full game, still can't save offline. I want my money back. I want the game, but of saving doesn't work, there's no point.

1I'm not very far, but game itself is good so. Though it is undoubtedly an old-school jrpg and it plays like one - kind of slow going, without many of the improvements that made the genera much more enjoyable, and it's on the harder side (which really just translates to more grinding). And the game, at least in its mechanics (especially the battle system) is much closer to something like Dragon Quest than Final Fantasy. The port is pretty good. It could benefit alot from a d-pad that is no static, or at least has adjustable size and transparency. Also, though I bought the ad free version (well worth the $2, despite all faults), in game saving doesn't seem to work, and exclusively relying on save states seems to take away some of the intended difficulty. So if you're into older jrpgs it's definitely woth trying, particularly given the price. But it's something to skip if you aren't particularly into the genera.

Purchased ad-free. Restarted the game. Ads are still there. Tapped "Restore purchase". The game is stuck. Need assistance. Update: it's OK now.
