  • SEGA Classic Ristar Now Available for Android | Droid Life

All the way from 1995, SEGA’s Ristar is now available for Android and iOS devices. While I may have only been 5 years old in ’95, I understand the importance of this character, as it was based off an original idea that would later become Sonic the Hedgehog. Both characters are separate, but essentially share … Continued

Classic game, I remember playing this at a friends house when I was younger. Really addictive and well thought out mechanics. I would highly recommend checking this game out. (SEGA: When I connect my XBox One S controller, the movement keys don't work but the action buttons do. WILL BUY ALL OF YOUR GAMES AD-FREE IF YOU FIX THIS. Please, using a controller feels more natural.)

A Perfect port of one of the best non-sonic genesis games! If I recall, this uses a new core that makes emulation much better than previous releases, so hopefully the other emulated games will have the same core soon! Controls are a bit buggy and small, but the game isn't impossible to play. Hope to see S3&K and Streets of Rage Soon ^^

I give this game five stars because it's good it gave you option for the controller it also has a smooth mode ( with makes it look 16 bit like the Genesis ) and the the difficulty is at a good setting the levels are big with allow you to explore and leaner so you know where to go. In the end it's a good port and I highly recommend you play. Adds may pop up but that's when you're saving. Go play it

The emulation has improved a ton since I last played a SEGA Forever port. The controls were also better than I expected. However, the presentation seems uninspired. The main menu you see when booting up the app stays the same for nearly all SEGA Forever ports. I wouldn't have a problem with this if the menu was polished, but the animations are a little rough and the graphics lack style or polish. I would also suggest adding custom made instructions for each game. People new to retro games might need that sort of thing. Despite this the game itself is really good and I recommend it.

This is the first game to add the new core. It adds the option for smooth graphic filter which looks very nice for 16 bit games on an HD display. Arcade controls were also added which makes the touch control for movement a joystick instead of a control pad. Ristar is a great little platformer that sets itself apart from other games in the genre. Ristar launches his hands from his body in 8 different directions that allows him to hurt enemies and over come the various obstacles in game. If you haven't tried it give it a chance.

I love this game! I haven't had a chance to pick it up for my Genesis, so I had never played it... until now. Even by never playing it, I was still able to tell that the emulation is AMAZING!!! I only have one problem though. I can't seem to get my Duelshock 4 to work properly. The buttons are jumbled up, and both the D-Pad and Analog sticks won't move Ristar around. I know it's not the controller, because I use that for my PS4 everyday. It could just be my phone though. But overall, I recommend you get this immediately!

Can't give more then 1 star. Wish I could give negative 5. Let's see 1 add every 5 seconds can't even start the game it resets every time the add goes. So I got to the start screen and nothing but adds

Uninstalled.. The adds need to be toned down a lil. There were so many i couldn't even play the game. I seriously got 10 in a row. Couldn't get past start menu. Uninstalled. I'd probably love this game and buy it but can't even play. Uninstalled

If you want to actually play the game then pay for it. If you like watching the same 3 ads on a never ending loop by all means download the free version. The start screen never even had a chance to load. Terrible
Ashante 2
It lags sooo much it just throws the whole experience off, especially when the music and sound is lagy too, the controlls where terrible I culdent even perform a simple jump. Try to improve and i will rate 5 stars, for now it's 2 stars cause its kinda bad.

Ristar is a Sega classic, it's great to see a Sega Forever release. However, my biggest gripe with this is the distinct audio delay. It only appears to affect the Galaxy Note Edge, and by proxy, Note 4, but it's still rather jarring. Would love to see this get fixed. Gamepad support is top notch as ever, game runs smoothly, nothing else besides sound.
