Description & Details

Lords of Waterdeep is a strategy board game, set in the D&D world of Waterdeep.

Wizards of the Coast and Playdek present the award-winning Dungeons & Dragons board game Lords of Waterdeep!

Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors! A city run by a secret society of masked Lords who rule with shady back-door dealings and unmatched political power. In Lords of Waterdeep players will play as one of these masked Lords and will need to recruit adventurers to go out and complete quests for them. The more quests they complete, the more control and influence they have over the city.

Players can expand the city by purchasing buildings that will open up new opportunities within the city walls. Intrigue cards can be used to help the player and may also either help or hinder their fellow Lords in their quest to become the supreme ruler of Waterdeep!

Lords of Waterdeep is a turn-based strategy game played in 8 rounds and can be played against AI or with up to 5 human players. Players take turns assigning their agents to do their bidding, whether it is to recruit new adventurers to their tavern or purchase a new building for the city. Points and resources are gained by completing quests, playing Intrigue cards, constructing new buildings or having other players utilize the buildings you have constructed. At the end of the 8 rounds bonus points are awarded and the player with the most points at the end wins the game.

Edit: I do not like that I had to manually set the permissions (if this is an Android problem it's the first time I have seen it) that out of the way I have been thinking of buying the physical game and this app has convince me to do so. It's very well made, controls well, and bit on the hard side (that's not bad in my book) definitely recommend. Not launching Pixel XL (8.0) Not going to rate low yet, but please fix asap so I can scratch this itch xD

A good port of a great game... A couple of issues though... Being able to house rule certain aspects of the game would make the game better... Having the option to remove certain cards (intrigue and quest) from the game would give a higher star rating... Friends, family and I don't play with the 40 point Quests or the Open Lord Intrigue card... Others play with a variant on starting resources... Options like this would be great...

I love everything about it, except the top AI is a bit weak. An obvious easy tweak would be to make the AI gang up on you more. In a 3 player, I should probably get almost all the Mandatory Quests, instead it seems the fight it out for 2nd place. The Chromecast suggestion in another review would be great. Still trying to find that killer Board game app that makes playing with TV and tablet actually viable/enjoyable. An in app but report feature would be good too. Using review comments to say "AI was able to use a building destroyed by an intrigue card" isn't ideal.

An excellent port. I did knock off a star because like many other reviewers have pointed out, even the AI at the most difficult level are usually easy to beat. It's largely because of the Intrigue cards--the AI never give me a Mandatory Quest, and they always give me the extra resource. It's kinda funny actually, but not at all realistic.

The fact that I get a blank screen when trying to run this is crazy. Only time I've ever experienced this. The advice to manually enable permissions works, but requiring contact access for a paid game is not acceptable. This game may be amazing, but the developers need to take some classes in modern Android development.

Hi great game. One bug through with one quest train castle guards should give a warrior to both the person who completed the plot quest and the person picking up the tower. If it's the same person they should just get one warrior. Currently one warrior goes to the player who completed the quest but does not give any warrior to the person taking the tower. Other than that new version is great and the animation speed up works well. Need more work on AI too

This app doesn't work on Google nexus phones. I tried manually giving it permissions as suggested by the developer in response to another review to no avail, and also sent an email to the support team but I haven't heard anything from them. Save your money and don't buy this non functional app.

Halaster Blackcoat did not work properly offline game. At the end game it said I had a different Lord (Danilo Than) and my Lord was listed under another player. I got 4 VP for my completed quests, but zero for my buildings. Otherwise, this is a great buy so far...

All I see is a black screen when starting the app on my Pixel. I've already checked the app's permissions. Please fix this issue as I've paid for this app. To your response: I'm not sure why you're replying with the same canned message as I've already stated changing the permissions did not work. All I get is an error to reinstall. It's a circle of failure that needs to be fixed.

This is a fantastic digitization of one of my favorite board games. The controls are good, and I haven't noticed any bugs. My only real complaint is the sound, which is sub-par at best. Turn the sound off and put some tunes on and you're all set though.

**update: they were fixed!** Would give the game a 5 but I'm having a lot of terrible with the achievements. I've completed two of them multiple times now, on purpose and received nothing except my wasted time. The two are "aquire 5 buildings in a game" and "complete 8 Arcana quests in a game". I hope I don't come across more 😭😭
