Description & Details

Get a more secure mobile life with Samsung's unique "Secure Folder"!

This update is available for Samsung Mobile with Android 7.0 and above.

Secure Folder leverages the defence-grade Samsung Knox security platform to create a private, encrypted space on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Apps and data moved to Secure Folder are sandboxed separately on the device and gain an additional layer of security and privacy.

Easier and more convenient
Store your private files and apps safely. It's easy to move apps and data by tapping "Move to Secure Folder" or by importing them via "Add files" from inside Secure Folder. Your personal apps and data will be separated and encrypted so that they are protected from malicious attacks.

More secure
Lock your Secure Folder with an additional PIN, pattern, password, or biometric lock, so that only you can access your private pictures, apps, and data.

Effectively manage data
Add or copy your apps and data into Secure Folder. You can use Secure Folder to store your private contacts, photos, and more in a separate account. This allows you to have two profiles on a device so you can manage your data more effectively.

※ Secure Folder will operate only on official software released by Samsung Electronics. Features or UX may vary depending on the device, OS version, etc.

※ Secure Folder is a service, based on Samsung account, that provides an independent, isolated environment within your mobile device. Applications and data moved or added to Secure Folder (e.g. photos, audio files, movie files, and documents), will not be accessible from outside Secure Folder, whether by USB or Wi-Fi Direct. If your mobile device detects any rooting or custom ROMs, Secure Folder will automatically lock-up in order to prevent unauthorised access, in which case you will no longer be able to access or use the contents within Secure Folder. Therefore, please make sure you back up any important applications or data elsewhere, such as on your personal computer, before moving them to Secure Folder. Samsung is not responsible for any data loss or inaccessibility.

Use Backup and Restore of the below path to store your customers' data more safely.
Secure Folder > Settings > Backup and restore > Back up Secure Folder data

[Required Permissions]

- Calendar: For the purpose of providing the ‘Share calendar’ function
- Contact: For the purpose of using the registered account to set up Secure Folder
- Storage: For the purpose of backing up and restoring the content in Secure Folder or for the purpose of providing the data backup feature when adding or deleting files
- Body sensors: For the purpose of using the lock screen with fingerprints and iris

  • Samsung's Secure Folder now available from the Google Play Store

Earlier this month, Samsung eliminated its My Knox security platform from its Galaxy handsets. This was a "sandbox" that allowed users to use the same phone for work and play. At the office, Knox would provide secure apps to use. At home, the work apps would be locked down which prevented the kids or anyone else from accidentally accessing apps related to work...

Great app. User experience is better than knox. alot of reviewers here don't understand how this app works. This app won't work if you have rooted your device, installed custom firmware, flashed official firmware without flashing all required files (ap, bl, cp, csc). It is not the app developers responsibility to fix stupidity

I have the Note 8 and I was using it earlier today with no problems. Now I go to get on it again and it shows no apps in Secure Folder at all. It won't allow me to add the apps I had in there in the first place either. I restarted my phone and it did not help. I hope you can fix this soon and none of my info is lost.

It was working well. But now i can't seem to access it no more. It says I'm typing the wrong password but I'm not. Its the same password to unlock my phone and that works fine. I tried resetting my password and saw everything i have stored will get deleted. Same problem happened with MyKnox last month

Works very well, however on my Note 8 it will randomly delete the apps in the secure folder. Not uninstall, just disappear. And I have to put them in all over again, and resign into them etc. Such a pain

Worked fine at first but now it won't even open. I turn on the option in the notification bar and then find the app under all apps, but when I try to open it my device freezes up for a second or two then tells me that secure folder has stopped. Please fix so I can access my pictures. Using a Galaxy S8.

Decent. But it gives me about 500 notifications a day to update "English". It's beyond annoying. I tap the notification and it opens the app, I unlock it, and nothing happens. The app just disappears. And about 5mins later the same notification comes back. - There is no option in settings to contact you to send a report.

Be careful if you are using this. The last time I use my knox all of my data was gone. Suddently i logged out from my knox then when i logged back in i lost all my data. I tried to restore it but i can't. I havent backed them up, because i think they will be fine.

Anyone having issues with finding the app. Just slide down your settings from the top. Press the arrow to get all the features next to blue light filter you should see secure folder. Press on it and it will turn blue. You would be asked to put your pin for the secure folder. Go from there once you do that it, should let you open from app store. I was able to open it and find all my things in my folders. Good luck!

Hi.. after Uninstalling it by accident.. I tried re-installing via Play Store, installed latest update successfully but I can no longer find the Secure Folder app icon on my app drawer. Any solutions for adding back the icon instead of heading into Settings to access Secure Folder? please help... ~tia.

Hey guys I just found out how to access our secure folder again. You have to bring down your system tray. And active it now. Its there underneath "power saving" mode and next to "blue light filter." Then you you'll see it again with your apps.
