The Good = Its a throwback to the classic Sega title. Everything we love about Phantasy Star II is here. The Bad = Ads. I am not one to pick on them as i sometimes enjoy watching ads. But too much is not funny anymore. Paid version still gives you ads by the way. Saving is also an issue if youre offline. What is this, an online game??? Verdict = I was excited about the game coming out on Android because I followed most Phantasy Star games. I'd say i'm better off with emulators than this, or the GBA version (Phantasy Star Collection) for portability.

Huge fan of the PS SERIES! But these "re-releases" are nothing but low effort cash grabs. There is absolutely no reason to show an ad with the paid version while connecting to the license server. Glorified ROM. Just download free emulators and the roms from coolroms

Interactive Ads prevent me from SAVING! Please fix this! I want to play the game, but these interactive ads send me back to the "CONNECTING" loading screen. Edit: This saving issue is currently being investigated. Glad that this problem has been acknowledged. Can't wait for the update!

Ridiculous. Buy the game so i can play offline assuming that the reason it need to be online is ads... Then when i play offline it gives me ads and takes away the ability to save!!! Change this hideous dynamic please.

Don't waste your time on this. Despite playing well, the game refused to save about 1/2 the time leaving you in a 'connecting' screen. You don't get to save, and don't get to resume the game to try to save again, losing all progress you have made due to bugged ads.

Even better than I remember. So much better to be able to anywhere. Only tip is to make sure to look up the maps online because the original game came with maps and the maps are ridiculously hard to navigate without a map or in-game mapping system

Great to play again +1 star now from my original review because they fixed the server login issue it seems. But now despite having paid for ad free version of game you are forced to watch at least one ad before you can login to server to show you paid or ad free.. this seems extremely shady to me can't condone it hence the low overall stars.. also a automatic attempt to sign into Google server instead of me having to do it manually would be nice.

I didn't have sega when I was a kid so I can't wait to see all the different games for this. Awesome game btw. I always heard good things so I am excited to see how this stacks up against SNES emulator

Controls could be tighter and the save/load system is needlessly complicated. But you are still getting a legit version of one of the best old school RPGs for the price of watching an ad when you want to save.

Look SEGA... I absolutely love this game and the idea of you guys bringing these old classics to mobile is brilliant, but I'm having a huge problem with the server saves for this game. My connection is always at its strongest (130 mbs) while I'm playing, but when I try to save, often it'll play the advertisement fine, then it'll get stuck on a "connecting" screen until I leave the app. When I enter it, I'm at the main menu without my progress saved. My progress keeps getting set back hours at a time and it's taken me the whole day just to get past Shure. I really wanna play through the game again and am excited for the phantasy star III and IV (if you plan to release it), but if this server save problem lasts, I'm just gonna give up.

This thing has issues. To start, the d-pad malfunctions terribly. If your thumb slides off the left a bit, it starts tapping the c-button and basically going nuts. My bluetooth controller does not function with this app so that really sucks! Second, logging in is a hassle. I cannot play right now because I can't log in to restore my saved game. And navigating the save/restore menus is clunky, I have to hit "load three times to do it even on a good day when it works. Third, it doesn't support vertical view, only landscape. If you want to play any genesis game you want, there are emulators which solve ALL of the issues previously stated. They save/load instantly without needing a log-in, the controls are much better, they support vertical screen, and they are ad-free. I would personally rather support the legitimate programmers and pay for my favorite games to stay relevant, but it is pathetic that the paid app is so fasr below the emulators like d-gen.
