  • SEGA Classic Ristar Now Available for Android | Droid Life

All the way from 1995, SEGA’s Ristar is now available for Android and iOS devices. While I may have only been 5 years old in ’95, I understand the importance of this character, as it was based off an original idea that would later become Sonic the Hedgehog. Both characters are separate, but essentially share … Continued

I really love that sega is putting in the effort to bring back their classics for the mobile platform. For me, somebody who didn't get to experience them back in the day, its incredibly fun to explore all these classic titles. This one in particular is a very fascinating and wonderfully crafted platformer. Unique from anything I've really ever played. The soundtrack is amazingly catchy and the pixel art is pretty great. My only wish is that sega would put more effort into adapting controls for touchscreen. The dpad and buttons system just don't hold up for touch screen. The way this game is played makes the dpad especially frustrating to use. Well, at least they added a save feature.

I have played all of the SEGA Forever line and the emulation has improved immensely. I love the sounds and visuals as they look as they should. However, with this title and basically all the others the touch controls are a bit finicky as I am sure you have heard. I would be absolutely appeased if the HID controller support issue in which only the face buttons register but not the analog or D-Pad was remedied, so we can play with the precision these games are designed for. Do this and they will be perfect.

Horrible controller support, making it unplayable for me. Does not recognize the dpad or analog stick. Reply to SEGA: Listed where?? I have no problem playing Sonic with the same controller. This game really needs to be updated.

It won't let me play. This is my all-time favorite game and I can't play it. Every time I load it takes forever and then crashes and Starts over to crash again and keeps repeating. I'm done. I'm not even waiting for an update. If I wanna play that bad ill get on my laptop. Worst experience ever

I guess that this game must have been just about playable with a proper controller, but on a phone touchscreen...? Not really. It's a real shame, because it's beautiful to look at. One other thing I'd add is that black borders would be preferable to the filled ones (less distracting) - maybe there's an option for that, but I didn't see it. Moto G5 Plus.

The controls could use some improvement (difficult to press buttons sometimes), but overall the game is fun.

Please make some improvement. Its a legendary game.I hope Sega should work on all its games for fans of sega

I can't sign in to save my data, so I lost three worlds of data. It won't sign me in, and the controls are hard to use at times. I get that it's supposed to be like a Genesis controller, but two buttons to jump and one to grab doesn't really do me justice anymore. Not on my phone anyway. Especially since the buttons are decently small, so half the time, I don't even press the buttons. And the directional stick is also hard to work with at times.

Classic game, I remember playing this at a friends house when I was younger. Really addictive and well thought out mechanics. I would highly recommend checking this game out.

I remember playing a bunch of Sega Genesis Games as a child. Ristar was always one of my favorite. I'm glad to see that it's been ported to mobile devices and I greatly appreciate it Sega.
